New ACT music therapy series: psychotherapy you can hear
Note: Press release · Frankfurt am Main, August 21, 2025
Dr. med. Daniel Zeiß has developed a music therapy series that makes psychotherapeutic principles accessible to everyone. The albums “Der Weg zu mir” (German) and “The Journey Home” (English) translate scientifically grounded ACT concepts into music — and turn psychotherapy into something you can sing along to.
ACT principles become audible
The eight songs on each album are based entirely on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and lead through its five core principles — from thought fusion in “Gedankenkarussell” through defusion in “Nur Gedanken” to values-based action in “Schritt für Schritt.” “Music reaches people on an emotional level that pure theory cannot,” explains Dr. Zeiß.
Receptive music therapy for home
The series uses the approach of receptive music therapy — people listen to the songs for self-reflection and emotional processing. Each song is grounded in evidence-based methods: ACT, music therapy approaches, neuropsychology and positive psychology. Bonus tracks address specific themes such as trauma processing and neuroplasticity.
Low-threshold and accessible
The albums are available on all major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and others). From powerful German rock to soothing singer-songwriter to encouraging pop-rock, each musical style was chosen to fit its respective ACT concept. “We open up access to therapeutic content — anyone can use this music for their personal growth,” says Dr. Zeiß.
